Fields, Forest, and Family: Women's Work and Power in Rural Laos

Until the Vietnam War, Laotian women had traditionally sustained the household and local economy with their work in field, forest and family. This book focuses on the ways in which women from three ethnic groups have responded to the political and social changes which have occurred since the war.
