American Made: Highlights from the Huntington Art Collections

The Huntington’s finest examples of American Art are brought together for the first time in an innovative format that connects them through compelling visual juxtapositions to tell the story of American art in microcosm. One of the world’s great cultural and research centers, The Huntington, in San Marino, CA, is home to a remarkable library, art collection, and botanical gardens. Until now, no book has been dedicated to the institution’s important collection of American art from Copley to Warhol. Coinciding with the American gallery’s thirtieth anniversary, this innovatively designed book features paintings, sculptures, decorative and graphic arts. Accompanied by thoughtful historical essays, American Made celebrates a collection that has grown from fifty paintings to more than 12,000 objects, making The Huntington one of the finest repositories of American art in the US.
